The 4D refers to the four distinct laser modes used in the treatment. SMOOTH (intraoral), FRAC3 (deep dermal), PIANO (bulk heating), and LIGHT (surface refinement). Together they address skin aging from four dimensions simultaneously.
Many patients see excellent results from a single annual session. Patients with more significant laxity may benefit from a series of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart initially.
The intraoral SMOOTH mode is the most novel sensation, a controlled warmth inside the mouth. The external passes feel like a warm massage. Most patients find the treatment comfortable throughout.
