Laser hair removal in Pickering at Victoria Rose Aesthetics is priced by treatment area, from the upper lip, chin, hands and feet row at the low end up to $400 per treatment for the full body, and every area is also sold as a package of 8 sessions. The treatment comes as a series because the laser only affects hairs in their active growth phase, and the clinic describes a full course as 6 to 8 sessions. The full price list is below, followed by what changes the number of sessions and what the price covers.

Why laser hair removal is sold as a series

Laser hair removal treats unwanted hair by targeting the follicle, and it only works on follicles in the active growth phase. Hair grows in three cycles: anagen, the active growth phase, then catagen, a transition, then telogen, a resting phase. Only anagen hairs respond to the laser. At any one visit, a treatment area holds hairs at all three stages, so a single session reaches only the follicles that are in anagen that day. Later sessions catch the follicles that have moved into it since.

Treated hairs shed within one to three weeks of a session. Regrowth comes back finer and slower, and the reduction builds over the course. The clinic describes a full course as 6 to 8 sessions, which is why each area is priced both as a single treatment and as a package of 8 sessions. The outcome is long-term reduction in hair. The treatment page describes it as reducing hair long-term, so some hairs can remain after the course.

What changes the number of sessions an area needs

The clinic does not publish a session count for each priced area. The number is set at the consultation, where the Medical Aesthetician assesses the factors below and builds a plan for each area. Hormonal areas, such as the face, bikini and abdomen, may require additional sessions beyond the main course.

  • Fitzpatrick skin type, which guides how the laser is set.
  • Hair colour. Very blonde, grey and white hair has minimal pigment and responds poorly to standard laser.
  • The treatment areas in the plan.
  • The hair profile of each area.

Face and body sessions: spacing and time in the chair

Sessions are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for the face and 6 to 8 weeks apart for body areas. The interval is timed so each visit reaches a new group of follicles that has entered the active growth phase since the last one.

Treatment time depends on the size of the area. Underarms take about 10 minutes, and full legs take 45 to 60 minutes. Each session uses a Fotona Nd:YAG laser with built-in cooling on the shaved treatment area. The settings are chosen for the patient's skin type and hair colour, then adjusted at each visit based on how the skin and hair have responded.

After the course, hormonal areas may benefit from 1 to 2 annual touch-ups. The clinic does not publish a touch-up price, so ask about it at the consultation.

What the price covers, and the package terms

The pricing page lists one price per area and does not itemize anything else. Each session is the laser treatment of that area, with the settings reviewed at every visit. A consultation comes first, and the written plan for each area, including the number of sessions and their spacing, is set there.

Read the package terms from the pricing page footnote before buying:

  • All purchases are final sale and non-refundable.
  • All pre-purchased packages and treatments must be used within one year of the original purchase date.
  • The clinic describes a full course as 6 to 8 sessions, so an 8-session package sits at the top of that range.

Who should wait before buying a package

Some patients are better served by a consultation before any purchase, because packages are final sale. The points below come from the clinic's own terms and treatment page. For the full screening list, read our guide on how to choose laser hair removal in Pickering and who should wait.

  • Very blonde, grey or white hair. These hairs have minimal pigment and respond poorly to standard laser, so ask whether a package can deliver a result first.
  • Anyone who cannot keep a regular session schedule over the coming year. Packages must be used within one year of the original purchase date.
  • Anyone treating a hormonal area who expects the course to be the end point. The face and bikini may need additional sessions and 1 to 2 annual touch-ups.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does laser hair removal cost in Pickering?+

At Victoria Rose Aesthetics in Pickering, laser hair removal is priced per treatment area. The smallest areas (upper lip, chin, hands and feet) are the lowest-priced row, at $520 for 8 sessions ($65/treatment) as a package. Full body, the largest area, is $400 per treatment, or $3,000 for 8 sessions ($375/treatment). The written plan for each area is set at a consultation.

How does the 8-session package price compare with single sessions?+

Each package row prints its own per-treatment figure. Underarms are $125 per treatment as a single session, or $800 for 8 sessions ($100/treatment). Full Face is $150 per treatment, or $880 for 8 sessions ($110/treatment). Packages are final sale and must be used within one year of the original purchase date, so the session schedule matters as much as the price.

Why does laser hair removal take a series of sessions?+

Hair grows in three cycles: anagen, catagen and telogen. Only anagen hairs, the ones in active growth, respond to the laser, and every area holds hairs at all three stages at once. Each session reaches the follicles in anagen at that time, so multiple sessions are needed to catch every follicle. The clinic describes a full course as 6 to 8 sessions.

What decides how many laser hair removal sessions an area needs?+

The plan is built at the consultation from the patient's Fitzpatrick skin type, hair colour, treatment areas and hair profile. Very blonde, grey and white hair has minimal pigment and responds poorly to standard laser. Hormonal areas such as the face and bikini may require additional sessions. The clinic does not publish a fixed session count for each area.

Why are face sessions spaced differently from body sessions?+

At Victoria Rose Aesthetics, face sessions are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart and body sessions 6 to 8 weeks apart. The interval is timed so each visit reaches follicles that have entered the active growth phase since the previous session. The Medical Aesthetician confirms the spacing for each area in the written plan at the consultation.

How long does a laser hair removal session take?+

Treatment time depends on the size of the area. At Victoria Rose Aesthetics in Pickering, underarms take about 10 minutes and full legs take 45 to 60 minutes. Each session uses a Fotona Nd:YAG laser with built-in cooling on the shaved area, with settings adjusted at each visit based on how the skin and hair have responded.

Can a laser hair removal package be refunded, and does it expire?+

All purchases at Victoria Rose Aesthetics are final sale and non-refundable. All pre-purchased packages and treatments must be used within one year of the original purchase date. With body sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, confirm the schedule at the consultation before buying a package so the sessions fit inside that year.

Is a touch-up needed after the laser hair removal course?+

Hormonal areas, such as the face and bikini, may benefit from 1 to 2 annual touch-ups after the main course, because the page notes these areas can need more than the initial series. The clinic does not publish a touch-up price. Ask about touch-up sessions, and how they fit into the written plan, at the consultation in Pickering.
